Using the lead generator
Put a Rankability-hosted AI visibility report form on your agency website, brand it, set its limits, and collect the leads it produces.
The lead generator puts an AI visibility report form on your agency website. A visitor enters their business, website, what customers search for, an optional market, and their email, picks the questions they want asked, and Rankability runs each one and shows them the result. You do not host anything, write any code, or create an API key.
Rankability serves the page, so the work runs under your organization’s account. Each prompt a visitor runs draws on your organization’s on-demand usage in the same way an ordinary prospect report does.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”The lead generator requires an eligible paid Rankability organization with active account access, and an organization admin sets it up. Free, test, and standalone Copywriter accounts are not eligible. Decide the wording and the daily limits you want before you publish the link, and make the consent line on the form match your own privacy policy.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Open Settings → Lead generator.
- Turn the lead generator on.
- Copy the Page link to share it directly, or copy the Embed code to put the form inside one of your own pages.
- If you are embedding it, list the websites allowed to embed it, one address per line, and save them. The plain page link keeps working anywhere; only the embedded frame is restricted to those addresses.
Brand it and set the wording
Section titled “Brand it and set the wording”Under Branding and wording, set the agency name, brand color, logo address, headline, intro, the labels for the service and location fields, and the consent line. Leave a field blank to fall back to your Report branding or the default wording.
A Booking link appears as a button on the finished report, so a visitor who likes what they see can book time with you from the report itself.
What the visitor sees
Section titled “What the visitor sees”The visitor enters their business name, website, and what customers search for. The market field is optional — Rankability suggests addresses as they type, and a business that serves customers everywhere can leave it blank.
Rankability then turns that service into a handful of buyer-intent questions and asks the visitor to pick up to three, marking the ones it recommends. Only questions from that set are run, and each one is checked across the supported AI platforms. The picks are free and instant; nothing runs until the visitor submits.
The finished report leads with how many answers named the visitor’s business out of the answers that completed, then Who AI recommends — the other brands named across those answers, most frequent first — then each question with its full answer, the visitor’s brand and the competitors highlighted in the text, the brands named, and the sources behind it.
Below the report, Get help from your agency collects a name, email, phone, and message and sends them to you. Your booking link, if you set one, stays alongside it.
Protect your usage
Section titled “Protect your usage”Limits holds two caps. Prompt checks per day counts every prompt the form runs, so one visitor picking three questions uses three of it. Leads per visitor per day counts visitors rather than prompts. Every submission also passes a bot check before anything runs, and a repeated submission of the same form fill rejoins the lead that already exists instead of running it again.
If a link is being misused, Replace link issues a new page link and embed code. The previous ones stop working immediately, and the leads and reports you already collected are kept. Update your website with the new link and embed code afterwards.
Hear about each lead
Section titled “Hear about each lead”Under Lead notifications, Email me each new lead sends one email per lead — the visitor’s email, business, website, and every question they picked — with links to their report and to your leads list. It goes to your account’s billing address, or to an owner or admin when there is no billing address. It is on by default.
Add a Webhook URL when you want each new lead delivered to another system as JSON — a Slack incoming webhook or an automation tool, for example. Only https addresses are accepted. A separate notification is sent when a visitor asks for help from the report. Notifications are sent once per lead, so a visitor retrying a submission does not notify you twice, and they are best effort: a failure is recorded and never blocks the visitor’s report.
Read the leads
Section titled “Read the leads”The Leads card lists everyone who ran a report, newest first, with the date, email, business and market, every question that lead asked, and a link to their report. A lead who used the help form carries an Asked for help badge with the name, email, phone, and message they sent.
Export CSV downloads the same list with the website, status, whether they asked for help, and their contact details and message included.
Visitors never see their own email echoed back, your settings, or anyone else’s report. Keep the leads list and its export inside your agency.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”- The form does not appear on your site — Confirm the lead generator is on and that the page’s address is listed under the websites allowed to embed it. Embedding is restricted to those addresses; the plain page link is not.
- A visitor says the report would not start — They may have reached the per-visitor lead cap or the daily prompt-check cap, or the bot check did not complete. Remember that one visitor picking three questions uses three prompt checks, and raise the caps if they are too tight for your traffic.
- Reports stop running — Check that the subscription is active in Billing and that your on-demand usage window has not run out. See Understanding billing and usage.
- You cannot edit the settings — Only an organization admin can change the lead generator.
